60-2408. In all cases where an officer shall by virtue of an execution levy upon any goods or chattels, they may be left in the possession of the defendant or some other person pending sale if the officer take an undertaking from such person with security in such sum as the officer deem sufficient. The undertaking shall be to the effect that such person will deliver the property to the officer at the time and place fixed for sale. The officer shall give such person written notice of the time and place fixed for the sale by delivery in person or by restricted mail.
