8-1547. Starting parked vehicle. No person shall start a vehicle which is stopped, standing or parked unless and until such movement can be made with reasonable safety.

CASE ANNOTATIONS

1. Revving engine coupled with squealing and spinning tires does not violate statute without a showing of specific facts or circumstances demonstrating acceleration without reasonable safety. Garner v. Kan. Dept. of Revenue, 62 Kan. App. 2d 694, 703, 522 P.3d 319 (2022).
