72-6493. Compliance with uniform act regulating traffic on highways; additional regulation. All school buses, as defined in subsection (g)(1) of K.S.A. 72-6486, and amendments thereto, shall conform to the requirements of, and be operated in accordance with, the uniform act regulating traffic on highways. All school buses as defined in subsection (g) of K.S.A. 72-6486, and amendments thereto, and all buses designated in subsection (c)(3) of K.S.A. 72-6486, and amendments thereto, shall also conform to the requirements of, and be operated in accordance with, rules and regulations adopted by state board of education. In addition, the board of education may adopt such rules and regulations as are necessary to carry out the intent and purpose of this act.
